Lilo Accessible App Design

Translating an existing corporate design into an intuitive user interface
The startup Lilo has developed a mobile app for joint savings and commissioned us to create the app’s design. The design is based on the existing corporate identity and pre-made illustrations, which we are tasked with translating into an accessible and intuitive user interface. The challenge here is to combine the themes of finance and family—specifically children—without coming across as too serious or too playful. Additionally, the interactive elements and text must be designed in accordance with the guidelines and with accessibility in mind, so that everyone can use them seamlessly regardless of physical limitations.
Consistent and accessible design with a systematic color scheme
Our solution involved testing all available colors and creating a consistent color system. In the process, we excluded colors that were unsuitable due to a lack of contrast or because they had system-critical meanings (e.g., red for error messages). We also created a component library in Figma and developed interactive prototypes for various user views. Using a systematic approach, we standardized the design of components with similar functionality to ensure a consistent and user-friendly design.
Expertise used
LiloPlus GmbH
LiloPlus was founded with the mission of easing the burden on parents and helping children build a solid financial future. The idea emerged from a collaboration between founder Laura and Holger, whose vision was to make saving for children a collective effort rather than an individual one. With the support of family, sponsors, and friends, the goal is to create easy access to regular financial planning. In developing its app, Lilo places special emphasis on simplicity, transparency, and participation, ensuring that both parents and supporters are actively involved.
